He participated in an audition show created by JYP Entertainment (JYP엔터테인먼트) and was chosen to be part of the resulting group. He made his debut in March 2018 as STRAY KIDS' leader, producer, vocalist, dancer and rapper with their first EP, "I Am Not". He is also part of the in-house production team 3RACHA (쓰리라차), consisting of Changbin, Han and himself.
