Kang Ji Hyeon, known professionally as So You, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and former member of SISTAR (씨스타). She graduated from Korea Arts High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Contemporary Applied Music from Sungshin Women's University. Before debuting, she was a trainee at CUBE Entertainment and was supposed to debut as part of 4MINUTE, but she was not selected as part of the final lineup and left the agency. She made her debut in June 2010 as SISTAR's lead vocalist with the single "Push Push". Starship Entertainment (스타쉽엔터테인먼트) wanted to create a group that was able to switch genres and become style icons. Their fourth single, "So Cool," debuted at #1 on the Gaon Digital Chart, starting a streak of 9 consecutive number-one hits for them. As of 2025, only 4 other artists (IU, 2NE1, BIGBANG, and TWICE) have nine or more #1 singles on Gaon. However, despite all their success, Starship announced the group's disbandment in May 2017, much to the fans' disappointment. She made her debut as a solo artist in December 2017 with the album "Re:Born". Then, her contract with the agency ended in September 2021. SISTAR briefly reunited in July 2022 for an episode of "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook". She signed with Big Planet Made (빅플래닛메이드엔터) and spent a little over two years with the company before her contract expired in January 2024. She is currently an independent artist.
