A firefighter who has lost his sight and a young man with an incurable diagnosis end up in the same hospital room. At first they clash: sharp words and defensive prickliness keep them apart. Gradually they learn about each other's pain and secrets, and the distance between them gives way to unexpected closeness. Just as they begin to understand what love is, one of them is already preparing for a final goodbye.
