Jang Tae Joon, a former detective and graduate of the Korean National Police University, becomes the chief aide to a four-time lawmaker after transitioning to politics. Driven by ambition, he successfully places his lawmaker as the party representative but aims for more power. Kang Sun Young, a first-year lawmaker and party spokesperson, was elected through proportional representation. A former lawyer and TV host, she is ambitious and competent. Her relationship with Jang Tae Joon is strained, as her boss is a rival of the senior lawmaker who helped her enter politics.
