A Shinigami (Death God) drops a notebook in the human world, and young genius Light Yagami discovers it. The notebook, which causes the death of anyone whose name is written in it, gives Light the power to create an ideal world by judging criminals. Meanwhile, the eccentric detective "L" is tasked with investigating a series of mysterious deaths. As Light uses the notebook to outwit the police, a fierce battle of wits ensues between the two, with humanity's future at stake. ~~ Adapted from the manga "Death Note" (デスノート) written by Ohba Tsugumi (大場つぐみ) and illustrated by Obata Takeshi (小畑健).
