Azuma Sakutaro is a 38-year-old man without a job. He used to be considered one of the best sales representatives at a pharmaceutical company, but by his mid-thirties his results began to decline. Meanwhile, people he knew got married and changed jobs, and he grew more and more anxious and felt he was falling behind. In the end his strength ran out, and he suddenly quit. Now Sakutaro lives in his sister's house: by day he sleeps late, and in the evenings he goes out. One day at a gay bar, a man he has just met nearly drags him into a hotel. He is rescued by Kuji Shizuka, a former colleague and rival from the company. Eight years ago they competed to be the top salesperson, and on the day Kuji left they spent one night together. Now Kuji works as a medical interpreter, and his life has changed. The unexpected meeting brings back to life a relationship that both considered closed. ~~ Adapted from the manga series "Smoke Blue no Ame Nochi Hare" (スモークブルーの雨のち晴れ) by Hamada Kamome (波真田かもめ).
