Ozu Takaichiro is a 32-year-old single man. He is rationalistic and modernistic in his beliefs. He works and lives in Tokyo, but he is lethargic about everything in his daily life. One day, his older sister and her husband suddenly die in an accident. 12-year-old Kasukabe Mei is his niece, and she was left behind after her parents' deaths. He decides to take charge of Mei temporarily and live with her during her summer vacation. For that, he moves to Naraha in Fukushima Prefecture and does his job via remote work. Living with his niece, Takeichiro and Mei's bond gets deeper. He also meets the local residents, and he can feel their warm hearts. He begins to change by being around his niece and the local people.
