Hwang Me Ri, nicknamed Merry, dreams of becoming a musician as she works as a street vendor. Cheerful and optimistic despite the drudgery of her life, she works hard, and nothing disturbs her until Kang Dae Gu, a poor novelist, moves into her neighborhood. Clashing from the moment they meet, the two keep their neighbors in an uproar as they embark on a no-holds-barred war of attack and defense.
