During the Joseon dynasty, Ho Seon awaits his wedding night with the beautiful Hwa Jin, but is shocked to find that his new wife is a man. Her brother Ki Wan tells the story of his sister's escape from a political marriage and the substitution. Ho Seon demands an annulment, but his ailing mother is against it, and he has to hide the truth from everyone. Meanwhile, Kim Tae Hyeong appears and falls in love with Ki Wan. Now all three are caught in a maze of lies, hidden feelings and impossible situations, where each fights for their own happiness.
