The revolutionary NerveGear headset lets players immerse themselves fully in virtual worlds. One of them is Sword Art Online, a huge medieval fantasy game where people can explore and fight. But a cheerful start turns into a deadly trap: the game's creator locks thousands of players inside and takes away their way out. The only path to freedom is to conquer one hundred dangerous floors of Aincrad, and losing means real death. Kirito, an experienced beta tester, realizes that his skills alone are not enough. He meets formidable allies such as Asuna. Ahead await dungeon bosses and hostile factions. He has to overcome despair and win back a stolen future.
