Lee Jae Sang, a tutor from the present day, is thrown back into the Joseon era and becomes mentor to Yi Tak, a young tyrant emperor. He spends twelve years teaching his pupil, but on the night of Yi Tak's wedding tragedy strikes: Lee Jae Sang loses his position and ends up confined to the palace. Amid dark palace intrigues and a fatal incident at the hunting grounds, the two must get through many trials before they finally admit their true feelings for each other.
