Thorfinn spent his childhood in icy Iceland, listening to stories about Vinland, a mythical land of peace and abundance across the sea. His father, a warrior with a peaceful philosophy, taught that no one should be an enemy. But Thorfinn's reality is full of violence. Now a hardened mercenary, he fights in a bloody conflict between the Danes and the English, his heart burning with a thirst for revenge. He follows in the footsteps of Askeladd, the cunning warrior who killed his father. In a merciless world where war is the only reality, Thorfinn clings to vengeance. But his father's voice still sounds in his memory, challenging his conviction that war is the only way. The dream of Vinland, a land without strife, seems impossible, but perhaps it is not entirely lost.
