A period romance set in old Siam. Khun Phra Nai, a young nobleman, falls at first sight for the graceful "Lady Chui Chai", only to discover that the dancer is in fact a man, Kaewta. His devoted servant Saen despairs, and Khun Phra Nai tries to rein in his heart, but the harder he resists, the more firmly it is set, while Kaewta, who threatens violence at the next mention of "Lady Chui Chai", finds himself shaken by such steadfast love. The book was adapted into the series Interminable.

Book blurb
My heart lies cankered with desire; My strength gives way to heaven’s fire. Its searing breath consumes my breast, No peace have I, love fixed at rest. Saen longed to cry out across the riverbanks; Why must “Lady Chui Chai,” the fair one whom his Khun Phra Nai had fallen for at the very first glance, prove to be a man? Though his young master, Khun Phra Nai, strove to bridle his heart, why must his first love be thus? Yet the more he forbade it, the deeper his heart set. Though that Kaewta was a man, his heart was already given. “Call me ‘Lady Chui Chai’ again and I’ll split your skull open!” Kaewta ground his teeth at the tall noble who stood looking with those woeful eyes. However, he could not help but waver before that steadfast heart, steadfast love… even if it hurt, it loved still.
