Retrospect

Agency: Genie Records (GMM Music)

Retrospect are a Thai post-hardcore and metalcore band formed in 2001, when vocalist Nap (Chanattha Saisila) and bassist Bom (Nopawach Gajajiva) met over Counter-Strike in a game shop and discovered a shared love of fishing and heavy metal. Guitarist Not (Tanapol Srikanjana) and drummer Birth (Suttiphan Sangyut), Nap's primary-school friend, complete the line-up. The name was found in an English dictionary at a time when pop ruled and the band wanted to look back to the rock that had gone missing. The EP For Your Ears Only on ScreamLab Records brought them attention, and after signing with Genie Records they released the albums Unleashed (2007) and Rise (2008), along with concert DVDs. Nap's raw, wild stage presence made Retrospect the first Thai band to bring the mosh pit and circle pit to local concerts. They play Big Mountain Music Festival, Genie Fest G27, LEO Fest 2026 and Rock Fest.
