So Cool

So Cool is a Thai rock band from Phitsanulok, formed in 2004 by two neighbouring families: vocalist and guitarist Joke (Kornpop Chancharoen) and his brother March (drums), together with brothers Jan (Pratchanan Tongsuk, guitar) and James (Nawatsapol Tongsuk, bass). Before signing with GMM Grammy the band had played more than a hundred shows and won first prize and the Best Performance award at the Asian Beat band competition; a win at a band contest in 2001 led to their contract with GMM Grammy, where they recorded for the UP^G imprint. Their sound ranges from pop rock and alternative rock to alternative metal, with Thai motifs and a few luk thung-flavoured tracks. The band released seven studio albums — So Cool (2004), So Hot (2005), Soda (2006), Never Die My Love (2007), Five (2008), So Cold (2011) and Social (2012) — plus the compilation So Hits (2006). In 2008 Golf (Tattep Prasong) took over as vocalist. So Cool disbanded at the end of 2015 and reunited in 2025 with Golf, Jan and James; in May 2026 they played Thai Rock Fest at ESC Park in Rangsit.
