Li Jia Heng, later legally changed to Wu Yi Fan and known professionally as Kris Wu, is a Canadian singer, dancer, actor and former member of EXO (엑소). He was born in China but moved to Vancouver, Canada, at the age of 10 when his parents divorced. He then moved back and forth between both countries until he became a trainee in South Korea. In early 2011, SM Entertainment (SM엔터테인먼트) formed two separate groups, EXO-K and EXO-M, with plans to have one perform in South Korea and the other in China. He made his debut in April 2012 as EXO-M's leader and main rapper with the Chinese version of their first EP, "Mama". For several years, the groups performed separately until the release of their third EP "Overdose" in 2014 when they began performing as a single group and have continued to do so until now. However, in May 2014, he filed a lawsuit against SM, looking for his contract to be terminated after allegedly being diagnosed with myocarditis, which was left untreated by the agency. In April 2016, the lawsuit was resolved with a compromise between him and the agency. He officially left the group in July 2016 but remained linked to SM until mid-2022. In July 2015, he made his acting debut with a role in the movie “Somewhere Only We Know”, and in November of that year, he debuted as a solo artist with the single "Bad Girl". He spent time in China and in the United States. In August 2021, he was arrested by the Beijing police on charges of rape. He went to trial and was found guilty of the rape of three different women, one who was under 18 at the time, and sentenced to prison for 13 years. After his sentence, he is set to be deported to Canada. He was also found guilty of tax evasion in 2019-2020 and was fined 600 million Yuan.
