Shi Yi Jie is a divorced associate professor in the Department of Anthropology who raises his eight-year-old daughter Yo Yo on his own. A student, Fei Sheng Zhe, happens to meet the girl in a park and walks her home. There he finds her father asleep amid the mess, and later learns that the man is his new lecturer. Yo Yo is used to managing on her own and even does the shopping by herself, but Fei Sheng Zhe dislikes how her father treats her, and he agrees to act as her temporary nanny. He tries to build a connection between the girl and her father, who is always buried in work at the department, and over time the three become a family.
